Death Fat is a play on the medical term “Mobidly Obese”. If people are going to tell me that I’m a fatty waiting to die, well I’m going to embrace that term and have fun with it.
I certainly didn’t come up with the term though. It’s noted in the Urban Dictionary (which in this case is spot on):
“Deathfat” was coined in the fatshionista Livejournal community and serves as a mantle for those who are categorised by the (admittedly flawed) BMI chart as morbidly obese.
